Perforated and Expanded metal sheets are frequently used in the fabrication of strainers and filters in applications where a more rugged characteristic is required. Both can also be used as a support layer for a finer mesh strainer. A multi-layer configuration combines mechanical strength with a high degree of filtration in a turbulent or large volume application.
